Thursday morning we were supposed to go to the Archaeological museum of Heraklion but they had a power failure and it would not be fixed in time for us to keep it in the schedule so we missed seeing all of the real artifacts from Knossos. We then combined the rest of our activities into one. So we drove to Rethymnon and did a walking tour of the city. This city also had old venetian remnants that we looked at. They had a maze of shopping streets but unfortunately we didn't get back there to shop. We then walked up to the fortezza but we went the wrong way at first so we had to walk all the way around it and it was really hot at this point. The fortezza had amazing views so that was nice and we walked around it by ourselves so it was very chill. The fortezza also had a little museum but nothing too special to note. We then were free after the fortezza to go to the beach or whatnot. However, we had to walk to the bus and it ended up taking 25 minutes since they did not know where it was. When we finally got there the bus driver had apparently left and they said it would probably be there in 15 min. We didn't have that much time though and it was lunch time so we ended up just going to lunch and doing a bit of tourism shopping.
We then drove to Chania, which is pronounced more like hanya. We checked into our hotel which was a little dissapointing since it didn't have a shower curtain or cable. We called down to inquire if they knew they didn't have a shower curtain and they were quite aware and sent us some more bath towels. Although there was a drain in the middle of the floor it actually looked like it was just a hole since we almost reached the top before we were done and it didn't drain. The town was nice though.
